Dancing Souls

The Given Brief

Design a hand illustrated book cover based on a series of poems that were provided from the author, then turn the final design into a book cover mock-up.

The Mood & Concept

Using a favouite poem of mine, I created my design based on key points from the poem. 

My favourite line is “our souls dance like the sun in each others hearts”, I then used this as the main inspiration for my design. Using symbolism I drew what I imagined “dancing souls” would look like. Using bright fiery colours to represent the passion of the “souls” and green-blue palette for the rest created a nice contrast between the key elements that make up the artwork.
